"The Ultimate Mouse"

As appeared in ISHN’s “FDO”

July 1997

The other day we were discussing the theory of the "Ultimate Mouse". An ad we saw referred to a special pad as being the "Ultimate Mouse".

Touching the computer screen would really be the Ultimate Mouse, said one of us.

No, just looking at the screen and being able to move the cursor with your eyes is the Ultimate Mouse.

No, said third. Simply thinking or talking to the screen to get things moving, now that would be the Ultimate Mouse.

How about this…..the Ultimate Mouse thinks for itself and maybe you, too.

What’s the Ultimate Mouse – the best of all worlds – in safety? Universal safety? Or more realistically, global safety. How do we reach that "Ultimate Mouse" in global safety?

We start by developing global safety standards. Let’s say a global respiratory standard, a global PPE standard, etc. This levels the playing field for all businesses to provide products and compete economically for better worker safety. This work is facilitated by a true global safety association, ISEA, the International Safety Equipment Association.

To reach the Ultimate Mouse one must look at the ultimate objective and work back. This changing world is traveling too fast to just go to the next step now. Think of the Ultimate Mouse and determine your path in safety.

Think about it.
