"Americans Ask, 'What Is Expected of Us?"9

Part Two

As appeared in ISHN’s “FDO”

July 2002

My last installment on this subject was actually written last December ('01) and appeared in the May issue of ISHN's "FDO". It was originally written in two parts - this, the second, was updated and submitted in May.

" America and Americans will never be the same.... America and Americans are better - stronger -with a renewed pride, spirit and patriotism since 9-11" it began.

A lot of that is for sure still true - but now we're back to normal it seems - much healed - but scarred forever. The mourning - the banding of our people is not as evident as it was for the first three months after 9-11 - of course......

Yes we're healing, but let's not forget how good we treated each other during that time and still grow, as people, as a nation. To continue:

We must:

We must have faith and develop priorities - starting at home with family.
We must rekindle our love of personal liberty.
We must commit to a safer workplace.
We must develop more tolerance.
We must learn more how to empower others.
We must pledge a greater generosity among ourselves and to the rest of the world.
We must create a greater environment for creativity.
We must adapt more faith in innovative technologies.
We must enhance our minds with continued education.
We must learn respect and understand harmony.

Pick out what works for you - we must do better than just heal. We must be better and stronger and wiser - we owe it to ourselves and those that lost their lives and their loved ones of 9-11 and the rest of the world

Think about it.
